Real Deal Granola

Updated: Oct 11, 2020

This is real old school style granola, no candy or dried fruit, except for the coconut of course.

Lightly sweet, it is my go-to breakfast, with some fresh berries, kefir, or yogurt. On the flip side of the day, it tastes great on ice cream too.

Swap, add, change it up, this recipe can go with the flow. Short and sweet like a real deal should be.

Real Deal Granola

3 cups almonds, rough chopped or sliced

6 cups old fashioned oats

1/2 cup pepitas, raw or roasted unsalted

1/4 cup quinoa

1 cup shredded unsweetened coconut

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp sea salt

½ cup coconut oil

½ cup maple syrup

Oven 250

Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Place coconut oil and maple syrup in a medium saucepan, warm over low heat until the coconut oil has melted, pour over dry ingredients, mix well, spread out on large edged sheet pan. Bake for 10 minutes, stir, then bake another 12 minutes. I prefer mine to be on the moist side, if it is not as dry as you would like, bake another 8-10 minutes. Store in an airtight container
