Halloween & The Paper-Porium
Updated: Oct 1, 2020
We will be having a Halloween party at work this week, complete with awards, so I did a little binge paper crafting using my Cricut Maker, paper from my Paper-Porium, and a little help from the Dollar Tree. Some of you may be familiar with the world of Cricut, the Dollar Tree more likely, however, what is a Paper-Porium you ask? The Paper-Porium is, my well stocked, shall we say curated collection of paper, stationary and cardstock for crafting.
I have always been one to take note of the many different weights, styles and textures that paper can have. There is just something telling about paper, the way it feels between your fingers, the weight of it in your hand, and how the textures are used to help convey the message. Those are some of the reasons that I love paper crafting and have a well stock Paper-Porium. Some of my paper is purchased as a pad, generally 48 sheets, other have been handpicked individual sheets of prints, solids, textures, glittered, and metallic just to mention a few. I started stowing paper away for months before I bought my Cricut, it was an inevitable match made in paper crafting heaven.
To make the awards below, the only items I purchased were the Styrofoam blocks and the Solar Stake Lights, both from the Dollar Tree. The spoon is plastic, sprayed painted black, with a few drips of red paint, for an accent. The whisk was an old rusty key chain, given a second life, with silver spray paint.
Have a safe and Happy Halloween!
