Bloodys On Sunday

We will brunch again. There is no doubt that everything is changing in our world, but we will pull through this. If you look at how people are being creative with social distancing, you know that it is true and possible. This pandemic may not have arrived with a set time frame of ending, but we can't let that prevent us from having some responsible fun. You can still Brunch, gather friends and family around the table, even if it is a video chat style. There are perks you can stay in your PJ's and maybe have one more Bloody than usual because you are not driving.

Dressing the Bloody Mary is for some a grand display while others are more simplistic. Pickled or brined items go very well, shrimp, peppers, veggies, the list is endless. There are no rules, this is your house dress your adult beverage however you would like, and enjoy responsibly.

Bloody Mary

Serves 1

4 ounces tomato juice

2 ounces vodka

1 ounce lemon juice

1 teaspoon horseradish

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

4 dashes of hot sauce or to taste

1 Tablespoon olive brine


Garnish with olives on stirrer, or the create the garnish of your choice.

Fill your glass halfway with ice. I use a martini shaker, add all ingredients including a few ice cubes, give a good shake, then pour into prepared glass. This recipe is easily expanded, multiply for as many drinks as you need. When making them in a large batch, do not add ice as it will dilute the alcohol. Make a pitcher ahead of time, keep in the fridge until serving, and then pour over ice and garnish.
